Out with the blonde, in with the ombré...

Allow me to introduce you to my new bronde- you guessed it, that's both brown and blonde- ombré hair, courtesy of the talented Take 2 salon and my lovely boyfriend's wallet (it was a graduation present so this is allowed!). I've been getting bored of my bottle blonde for a while now and it got to the point where it was so far from my natural light brown hair colour that I wanted to tone things down a bit. I decided to go 'Kimberly Walsh style' ombré as I didn't want to get rid of the blonde completely and it also allows me to jump on the dip dye band wagon while it's still hot. I was pretty nervous as I sat in the salon yesterday and wasn't really sure how they'd go about creating the look I wanted but in the end I had an ashy light brown tint on my roots and about half way down my hair, then my already blonde ends were refreshed with a toner and helloooo ombré. It's not the most obvious colour contrast as it's hard to get such light hair to go dark, but I actually really like how subtle it is as I didn't want to walk out sporting two separate blocks of colour and I think they did a really good job colour matching the top to my roots and blending it out. Because of how blonde my hair was underneath I also now look like I've got highlights running through it. Highlights for free, not bad eh? I had a little bit cut off the ends of my hair but not much as I do want to keep growing it until I look like Rapunzel/can't face attacking it with ghd's anymore, but it already feels so much healthier and I really like how the hairdresser shaped it around my face too. All in all I'm a very happy bronde bunny and at £61 for everything I thought it was pretty reasonably priced...although saying that I do think I need to bake my boyfriend a rather large thank you cake for his birthday tomorrow!

What do you think of my new hair? Do you fancy going a bit bronde?

  5. I love your hair Meg! It looks so healthy and full and the whole look is just lovely and it suits you so much. Im so tempted to try it myself - I went brunette once and I cant say it suited me so im always a little nervous of going darker - but I might give it a whirl for Autumn/Winter. I think a little 'bronde'/caramel is in order for me.. ;) xx

  22. Absolutely love it Meg, you look stunning as always but it really suits you :) I get so frustrated with the brassy tones in mine, I'm debating having a few light brown shades put through it next time I get my highlights done to hopefully go more ashy rather than my current golden :)

  24. Very nice, I love how it's a really subtle ombré rather than the very noticeable difference between roots and ends like some people have. I think it really suits you :) x
