The A-Line Skirt | OOTD

Primark Crop // New Look Skirt // Missguided Boots // Michael Kors Watch // Maybelline 'In With Coral' // Barry M 'Eat My Dust'

With my 1940's-esque 'small waist, not so small hips' figure I'd resigned myself to never owning an a-line skirt. I must have tried every single a-line offering in Topshop to never find a size that fitted both parts of my body #girlproblems. Then whilst randomly browsing the New Look sale a few weeks ago I managed to find an a-line skirt that actually fits really nicely, doesn't flash my bum (take note toppers) and was only about £10! The checked gingham print is really cute too and transforms the skirt into a nice little statement number. I'm wearing it here with all black everything aka trusty Primark crop, tights and my favourite Missguided boots. I feel like adding patent chelseas makes the look a little '60's mod', but the skirt also looks pretty paired with a pastel jumper on chilly spring days. Speaking of which, I have a whole week of chilly spring days off to look forward to this week as me and the boy are going on staycation to Portsmouth and Brighton (BIGGEST WOOP). Recommendations for places to eat, visit, shop and snap are very welcome as we're keen to tick off all Brighton blogger hotspots!

Do you love an A-Line?

The Miracle Mask

It's been a while since I've felt the need to share a new hair product with you, as I'm usually using the same old stuff or left unimpressed by latest offerings. However, I've recently discovered a mask which has worked miracles for my lightened, heat abused locks- meet Mark Hill's MiracOILicious 2 Minute Intensive Treatment.

With the dark packaging and midrange price point it's not something I would usually have picked up, but then Corrie mentioned it in one of her favourites videos and the rest was history... Before using this my hair was feeling rather dry and damaged due to a round of blonding followed by dabble in pink hair chalk. But after leaving this thick, love heart scented (a marmitey choice there) concoction of 14 essential oils and plant extracts on for just a few minutes, my hair felt so silky, soft, moisturised and manageable! I've been using it as a conditioner with almost every wash since, as even with frequent use and the main moroccan argan oil ingredient, it doesn't weigh my hair down or create product build up. You might not love the super sweet love hearts scent and I also wouldn't take this too close to the root if you have fine hair, but my locks haven't felt in such good condition in a long time and I think at £7.99 from Boots more people need to bathe their barnet in this hidden gem.

What's your favourite hair mask?

Boots 3 for 2 | Spring Edition

We all know the drill. There's a Boots 3 for 2 on and it's our moral obligation as makeup lovers to make the darn most of it. Here's what I picked up on my latest (ahem) obligatory shop:

SOMETHING OLD // I kicked off proceedings by bringing the 17 Skin Wow 3 Way Highlighter back into my life. As the name suggests you can use this to prime, mix with foundation and highlight. My preference is to primer it up for a flawless, glowy finish. Don't shy from the shine ladies!
SOMETHING NEW // Yes I know, yet another Rouge Edition added to my already vast collection. In my defence this peachy pink 'appechissant' number is part of the new Aqua Laque branch of Rouge Editions and makes a gorgeous glossy change from my usual matte lip.
SOMETHING BORROWED // Now that would be called shoplifting. Hardly the best way to collect those sacred Boots points...
SOMETHING BLUE // The prettiest pastel powder blue called 'eat my dust' that is. I'm already obsessed with this new Speed Dry range from Barry M- the spring shades are so on point, as is doing a full manicure in mere minutes. Bravo Barry.

Have you indulged in a Boots 3 for 2 this Spring?

Boutique Bakes | Mini Egg Cookies

Happy Easter folks! I for one am loving this four day weekend malarkey- seeing family and friends, going for walks in the new Spring sunshine (about time) and baking lots of Easter treats! I actually started baking Easter treats in the form of Mini Egg Cookies last week for my work bake off and as they went down so well I wanted to share the recipe with you. I based my baking on this recipe from a lovely little food blog, but made a few tweaks to make it easier and more fool proof. So if you want to make quick, easy, chewy and utterly delicious Easter goodies to have with a cup of tea tomorrow just follow the below:

Makes 21 medium cookies

Ingredients
1 cup non-salted butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar, packed
½ cup white sugar
2 eggs
3 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups plain flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 90g bags of Cadbury Mini Eggs

Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 190°/Gas Mark 5.
2. Cream together the butter, brown sugar and white sugar in a bowl.
3. Add eggs and vanilla and beat with a wooden spoon until with smooth(ish).
4. Add flour (sieved), baking powder and salt, then beat again until all of the ingredients are combined.
5. Seal the Mini Eggs into a plastic bag and crush them into bits and pieces using a rolling pin.
6. Put aside some of the bigger crushed egg pieces to use later and mix the rest of them into the cookie batter.
7. Using a teaspoon, roll into rough one inch balls and place onto a baking tray topped with ungreased baking paper. They seriously spread out so I'd recommend 9 balls max per tray and lots of space between.
8. Bake for 9-10 minutes.
9. Remove from oven and push the saved larger egg pieces into the top of the cookies
10. Using a spatula, place the cookies on another sheet of baking paper to set and cool.

And enjoy! What have you been baking this Easter?
