Hey Ladies!
When you spend as many hours as I do perusing beauty blogs it's incredibly hard not to be sucked in to all the hype that surrounds certain products (I've no idea how I've kept away from Nars 'Orgasm' for so long!). Sometimes this turns out to be a bit of a bloggers pitfall as ones persons holy grail item is another persons, erm, the opposite of holy grail. However in the case of the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo I'm so happy I caved into the good reviews as it's become my new skincare saviour...
La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo £13.00 Boots |
Firstly, I thankfully don't suffer from problem skin, however it's in no way perfect either as my pores sometimes make me want to cry and there are times when my skin has a funny five minutes that turns into more of a funny five days where blemishes decide to pop up on my face. But ever since starting to use this product a couple of months ago I've found my skin to improve so much overall and be a lot more consistent. The actual product is a bit of a weird one, but it's essentially an imperfection treatment that comes in the form of a moisturiser type substance which targets open pores and spots. I use it once a day in place of a moisturiser in my night time skincare routine as I find it hydrating and soothing enough to do this. It also has no scent so would be great for sensitive skin, although I did accidentally get it in my eye today which is a place a wouldn't recommend putting it as the four active ingredients it contains didn't go down too well with my eyeball. I would use it in place of a primer in the morning too but sadly it's rather expensive at £14 for a fairly small bottle, but saying that I am still on my first one as a little product goes a long way and you don't have to put it all over your face if you only have problem skin in certain areas. I've got to admit I was sceptical when I heard all the hype about this product as skin care is such a personal thing, but my pores have most definitely got smaller and my skin has been much clearer and brighter too. I do still get the odd spot and my pores haven't vanished so it's not going to cause an overnight miracle but it's still the biggest skincare saviour I've found and I'd recommend adding it into your skin care routine immediately if not sooner. You go Effaclar Duo. Four for you Effaclar Duo (cheeky mean girls reference there, I must watch that again soon).
I've just got home from a really fun overnight trip to London where I went to see the musical 'Priscilla Queen of the Desert' with my friend Katherine. We were lucky enough to sit on the front row and got asked to go up on stage and dance with the cast after the interval which was amazing, as was getting to stand next to Jason Donavon in the wings! So yes if you like really camp, glittery, drag queeny things I'd really recommend it for a fun girls night out. I may also have gained an exciting lipstick shaped MAC product on my travels but more on that later...for now I'm back home to start my Easter holidays and looking forward to spending the rest of my weekend chilling out with the boy. Have a lovely weekend whatever you're up to!

Will definitely be purchasing this :) I have very sensitive skin so it can be difficult to find products that don't irritate my skin but still actually work!! So this review was really helpful xxx
